The Blue Jays have signed catcher CJ Stubbs to a minor league deal, but he was not invited to Spring Training. A former tenth-round pick of the Astros, Stubbs briefly played for the Nationals, making his MLB debut in September 2024 with one game under his belt. Although Alejandro Kirk and Tyler Heineman are currently the primary catchers, Stubbs could be the first call-up if either is injured. He has limited experience, with a career minor league batting average of .206.
