Olympic champion hurdler Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone announced her pregnancy on Instagram, sharing a photo with her husband, Andre Levrone Jr., and the caption, “made a human with my favorite human.”
She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist in the 400-meter hurdles and holds the world record at 50.37 seconds. Last year, she became the first woman to run under 48 seconds in the 400 flat since 1985, winning the world championship in 47.78 seconds. McLaughlin-Levrone may miss the 2026 World Athletics Ultimate Championships if she takes a break from competition during this off-year.
