Los Angeles Kings goalie Darcy Kuemper sustained an upper-body injury during the first period of a game against the New York Rangers and was ruled out for the rest of the match. The injury occurred after a collision with Rangers forward Jonny Brodzinski. Kuemper, a Vezina Trophy finalist last season, had a .905 save percentage in 31 games this year and was recently named to Canada’s 2026 Olympic team. Backup Anton Forsberg took over in goal and may face an extended role if Kuemper’s absence continues.
