The Philadelphia Phillies have re-signed veteran catcher J.T. Realmuto to a three-year, $45 million deal, following the Mets’ acquisition of Bo Bichette, whom the Phillies were targeting. Realmuto, who has played for the Phillies for seven seasons, had a .257 batting average with 12 home runs and 52 RBIs last year. This offseason, the Phillies have also re-signed Kyle Schwarber, signed Adolis Garcia, and added reliever Brad Keller, while losing starter Ranger Suarez to the Red Sox. Last season, the Phillies finished 96-66, clinching the NL East before being eliminated in the NLDS by the Dodgers.
