The Carolina Hurricanes have recalled defenseman Joel Nystrom from AHL Chicago due to Shayne Gostisbehere being unavailable for tonight’s game against Florida. Noah Philp has been placed on injured reserve to make room on the roster after suffering a concussion in his second game with the team. Nystrom, 23, has played 33 NHL games this season, notching eight assists, and recently signed a four-year extension. Philp, claimed off waivers from Edmonton, has recorded two goals and an assist in 17 games this season.
