The Chicago Cubs have reportedly signed free agent infielder Alex Bregman to a five-year, $175 million contract, one of the largest deals in team history. Bregman, who previously played for the Boston Red Sox, had a strong season with 18 home runs and 62 RBIs while earning an All-Star selection. He is expected to play third base for the Cubs in the upcoming season, joining an infield that includes Dansby Swanson, Nico Hoerner, and Michael Busch. The Cubs have yet to confirm the signing.
