Free agent outfielder Max Kepler was suspended for 80 games after testing positive for the banned substance Epitrenbolone, marking the first MLB suspension for this substance since 2005. Kepler, who previously played for the Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies, accepted the suspension without contest. He had a challenging 2024 season, hitting .216 with 18 homers, and underwent surgery for a sports hernia. Kepler, 33, has a career batting average of .235 with 179 homers and 560 RBIs.
