The Houston Rockets have signed Tristen Newton to a two-way deal, as reported by Jake Fischer of The People’s Insider. The 24-year-old guard was performing impressively in the G League, averaging 26.8 points and 7.7 assists with the Iowa Wolves. As a two-way player, Newton will be eligible to participate in 29 games for the Rockets. To accommodate this signing, the team waived Tyler Smith.
