Yankees re-sign Blackburn to one-year, $2 million deal

The New York Yankees have signed right-hander Paul Blackburn to a one-year, $2-million contract following his release from the Mets. Blackburn had a 5.28 ERA in eight appearances with the Yankees, but his performance improved significantly after a rough debut, posting a 1.50 ERA in his last five outings. While he can serve as a multi-inning reliever, Blackburn has extensive experience as a starter, with 86 of his 101 MLB appearances in that role. The Yankees’ offseason activity has mostly involved re-signing players from last season.
