Athletics’ Nick Kurtz wins AL Rookie of the Year

Athletics first baseman Nick Kurtz has been named the 2025 American League Rookie of the Year by the Baseball Writers Association of America, receiving the award unanimously. His teammate Jacob Wilson placed second, while Roman Anthony of the Boston Red Sox finished third; Kurtz will also receive a full year of service time for finishing in the top two of the voting.
