The 49ers will start Mac Jones against the Rams on Thursday Night Football as Brock Purdy is sidelined with a toe injury, having missed practice this week. Purdy, who has four touchdowns and four interceptions this season, is considered week to week after aggravating his turf toe, while Jones has four touchdowns and one interception but will be without injured receivers Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings.
