SANTA CLARA — The 49ers placed RB Patrick Taylor Jr. on season-ending IR due to a shoulder dislocation and signed veteran QB Nate Sudfeld to compete for the No. 3 quarterback position alongside Carter Bradley, as Mac Jones missed practice following Saturday’s game against the Raiders. Taylor contributed as a core special-teams player and had 39 carries for 183 yards this season, while backup RB Isaac Guerendo is expected to return soon from his shoulder injury.
