Seventeen-year-old shortstop Eli Willits signed with the Washington Nationals just six days after being selected first overall in the MLB draft, aiming to reach the big leagues by age 20. The son of former MLB player Reggie Willits, he joins Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper as the third No. 1 pick for the Nationals and will begin workouts at the team’s spring training complex in Florida.
