The New York Yankees have designated infielder DJ LeMahieu for assignment, as reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan. The decision follows the team’s move to shift Jazz Chisholm Jr. back to second base, and LeMahieu, who is owed nearly $22 million and signed a six-year, $90 million contract in 2021, has recorded a .266/.338/.336 line with two home runs this season.
