WNBA and ION Extend Partnership
ION will continue broadcasting WNBA games following a new multiyear agreement with Scripps, set to begin in 2026. WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert highlighted the deal’s reflection of the league’s growing popularity, as games currently average around 550,000 viewers. Notably, WNBA players were not involved in the negotiations with Scripps, despite the initial three-year agreement in 2023 being valued at approximately $13 million per season.
