The Reds and Red Sox announced that right-hander Brian Van Belle has been traded to Cincinnati for cash considerations, with Van Belle assigned to Triple-A Louisville after being designated for assignment by Boston. The 28-year-old, who joined the big league roster for the first time earlier in the week without making an appearance, has a career 4.48 ERA in 205 Triple-A innings and has experience as both a starter and reliever. With Reds ace Hunter Greene on the injured list, Van Belle may be considered for multi-inning relief or spot-start duties.
