New York Mets starting pitcher Kodai Senga will be placed on the injured list following a strained right hamstring sustained during Thursday’s game against the Washington Nationals. General manager Carlos Mendoza stated that Senga will undergo an MRI to assess the injury’s severity. The strain occurred in the sixth inning when Senga made a leaping catch at first base after a high throw from Pete Alonso, causing him to land awkwardly and subsequently clutch his hamstring, although he was able to walk off with assistance from the training staff.
