Jazz Promote Katie Benzan To Stars GM, Marquis Newman To Pro Scouting Role

The Utah Jazz have promoted Katie Benzan to general manager of their G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars, making her the youngest active GM in the league at 27 and the youngest female GM in history. She takes over from Marquis Newman, who has moved to director of pro scouting after leading the Stars to three consecutive playoff appearances. Benzan, who previously served as assistant GM and the first woman in a front office role for the team, is a Harvard and Maryland graduate recognized for her basketball talent and knowledge.
