The Brewers have claimed outfielder Drew Avans off waivers from the Athletics and assigned him to Triple-A following his designation by the A’s. A former 33rd-round pick by the Dodgers in 2018, Avans made his Major League debut with the Athletics, appearing in seven games with two hits in 15 plate appearances. With a .275/.374/.408 slash line in 2226 PA at the Triple-A level, he will provide depth in the outfield for the Brewers amid injuries to Blake Perkins, Garrett Mitchell, and Christian Yelich‘s DH role.
