The Athletics have acquired catcher Austin Wynns from the Reds in exchange for cash considerations, designating right-hander Carlos Duran for assignment to make room. Wynns, who was recently designated for assignment by Cincinnati after Tyler Stephenson‘s return, had a strong start to the season with a .390/.429/.661 slash line. With Shea Langeliers on the 10-day IL due to an oblique strain, Wynns will serve as a veteran option behind the plate while Langeliers recovers, despite the expectation that Wynns may not sustain his recent production.
