The Royals have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Thomas Hatch from Triple-A Omaha, moving injured reliever Hunter Harvey to the 60-day IL to create a roster spot. Hatch, 30, who signed a minor league deal in February, has a 4.96 ERA over 69 MLB innings and has pitched well this season with a 4.59 ERA in Omaha, showing improvement with a 3.68 ERA after a rough outing in April. He will provide long relief during today’s doubleheader, as the Royals aim to strengthen their bullpen after using six relievers in their last game.
