Rule 5 Draft Update: June Edition

Last winter’s Rule 5 draft saw 15 players selected, with about half remaining in their new organizations, three of whom are currently healthy and productive. Shane Smith of the White Sox has excelled with a 2.68 ERA in his first 11 starts, while Marlins catcher Liam Hicks has improved to a .292 average, and Mike Vasil has contributed a 2.10 ERA in 17 appearances. Injuries have affected several players, including Garrett McDaniels of the Angels and Angel Bastardo of the Blue Jays, who underwent Tommy John surgery, while some have been returned to their original teams.
