Arizona Diamondbacks ace Corbin Burnes will undergo an MRI on Monday due to right elbow discomfort that forced him to leave his start against the Washington Nationals in the fifth inning. Before his exit, Burnes, the 2021 NL Cy Young winner, had a strong performance, allowing no runs on four hits with six strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings, although he was charged with one earned run afterward. Arizona signed Burnes to a six-year, $210-million contract during the offseason.
