Right-hander Joel Payamps has cleared waivers and been assigned to Triple-A Nashville following his DFA by the Brewers. Despite having the option to reject the assignment and opt for free agency, doing so would mean forfeiting his $2.995MM salary, making acceptance likely as he aims to return to the majors. Payamps has struggled in 2025 with an 8.35 ERA over 18 1/3 innings, but he remains under club control through 2026 and could return if he improves his performance.
