The Baltimore Orioles have signed infielder/outfielder Cooper Hummel and designated Terrin Vavra for assignment to make room on the roster. Hummel, recently released by the Yankees, has been part of eight MLB organizations since being drafted in 2016 and had a notable rookie season with the Diamondbacks in 2022. Vavra, also out of options, has spent most of his career with the Orioles and is a versatile utility player, but the team opted to prioritize Hummel despite Vavra’s solid minor league performance.
