Bregman, who has been the team’s top hitter with a .297 average, 11 homers, and 35 RBIs in 50 games, was replaced by Abraham Toro. If Bregman is sidelined, the team may consider moving Rafael Devers back from designated hitter or calling up top prospect Marcelo Mayer from Triple-A to fill the gap at third base.
