Colts coach Shane Steichen and Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon, who rose to their positions after the Eagles’ Super Bowl run powered by the “tush-push” play, supported banning the play, with their teams among the 22 voting for its prohibition. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni humorously remarked that Steichen, Gannon, and Saints coach Kellen Moore should vote for the ban since their careers benefited from the play, although Moore and the Saints opposed it. As the league may revisit this issue next year, the Eagles could have more coordinators in head-coaching roles if they succeed again.
