The Dallas Stars defeated the Edmonton Oilers 6-3 in Game 1 of the Western Conference final, scoring three power-play goals in a 5:26 span early in the third period after trailing by two. Miro Heiskanen, Mikael Granlund, and Matt Duchene led the charge, with Tyler Seguin contributing two goals and an assist. The Stars, who have won seven consecutive home playoff games, improved their power-play performance after struggling in the previous year’s finals and will face the Oilers again in Game 2 on Friday night.
