For the first time, an NFL team will play consecutive road games in different European cities, with the Vikings facing the Steelers in Dublin and the Browns in London. This serves as a trial for potentially multiple teams exchanging two traditional road games for neutral-site games across various European locations, with plans for increased international games, aiming for 16 per year. By 2026, the NFL anticipates utilizing four franchises as the “road” teams for eight European games, as part of its broader strategy for expansion unless franchises are dropped in Europe.
