After firing manager Derek Shelton, the Pirates have restructured their coaching staff by hiring former manager Gene Lamont as a special advisor to new manager Don Kelly. Triple-A manager Chris Truby is promoted to the major league staff as a coach, while minor league field coordinator Shawn Bowman takes over as Triple-A manager. Additionally, third base coach Mike Rabelo will expand his role to include game-planning and in-game strategy, filling some responsibilities previously held by Radley Haddad, who was also let go.
