Aaron Nola has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to a right ankle sprain after a rough start to the season, with a record of 1-7 and a 6.16 ERA. Manager Rob Thomson indicated Nola’s injury, sustained during agility work, necessitated shut down to prevent further complications. Mick Abel, a promising 23-year-old right-hander, will make his major league debut starting Sunday against the Pirates, while Taijuan Walker is set to replace Nola in the rotation for an upcoming game at Coors Field.
