Mets left-hander Sean Manaea is making good progress in his recovery from a right oblique strain, having thrown off the mound for the first time, reaching 15 pitches, as reported by manager Carlos Mendoza. Meanwhile, right-hander Paul Blackburn is also approaching a return, set to pitch again for Triple-A Syracuse on Friday following a rehab start where he allowed three earned runs in three innings. Mendoza noted that Blackburn’s upcoming start may determine when he returns to the majors, depending on his condition.
