The Chargers have chosen not to protect their “home” game against the Chiefs, which will be played in Brazil as part of the international series. According to reports, the league selected the Chiefs as the Chargers’ Week 1 Friday night opponent, while the Chargers opted to protect games against teams that visit less often, like the Steelers and Eagles, instead of their three AFC West rivals. As a result, if the report is confirmed, the Chiefs game will be held in São Paulo, while other matchups against teams like the Raiders and Broncos will remain at SoFi Stadium.
