The Yankees announced that Carlos Carrasco cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after being designated for assignment. The 38-year-old right-hander, who signed a minor league deal before Spring Training, had a solid preseason but struggled in the regular season, posting nearly six earned runs per nine innings with a 6.18 ERA over the past three seasons. Despite his decline in velocity and performance, Carrasco remains a respected veteran and a depth option for the Yankees’ rotation.
