The Texans have signed rookie cornerback Jaylin Smith, making him the first of their nine draft picks to agree to terms, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC. Smith, selected in the third round as the 97th overall pick, will sign a four-year deal worth $6.16 million, which includes a $1.12 million signing bonus. During his time at USC, Smith started 21 games at nickel corner, 10 at outside corner, and one at safety, earning third-team All-Big Ten honors in 2024 with a total of 49 tackles, four tackles for loss, two interceptions, and two pass deflections.
