The Royals signed reliever Stephen Nogosek to a minor league deal, assigning him to Triple-A Omaha. At 30 years old, Nogosek comes from the Mexican League, where he made 10 appearances for the Diablos Rojos, allowing 10 runs (six earned) over nine innings, with a 13:2 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Previously drafted by the Red Sox and later traded to the Mets, he has a 5.02 ERA in 57 1/3 MLB innings and faced challenges in Triple-A last year, leading to stints in Mexico and the independent Atlantic League before returning to affiliated baseball.
