The Chiefs waived defensive end BJ Thompson and released linebacker Blake Lynch to create roster spots for 16 undrafted free agents. Thompson, a fifth-round pick in 2023, had a seizure and cardiac arrest during a meeting last June, leading to his placement on the non-football illness list; he appeared in one game last season. Lynch participated in one game with the Chiefs, totaling six tackles, and has played 29 games in his career across three teams, while the Chiefs signed players including Florida wide receiver Elijhah Badger and Oklahoma State offensive tackle Dalton Cooper.
