The Texas Rangers have signed left-handed pitcher Ty Blach to a minor league contract after he elected free agency post-2024 season. Blach, 34, has seven MLB seasons under his belt, debuting in 2016 with a strong start but experiencing mixed results, including a 12.00 ERA in 2019 with the Orioles and a 6.14 ERA in 193 2/3 innings with the Rockies. The Rangers are adding him as a non-roster depth option to support their rotation, particularly with injuries affecting pitchers Kumar Rocker, Jon Gray, and Cody Bradford.
