The ownership group led by Bill Chisholm has secured financing to purchase the Boston Celtics for $6.1 billion, acquiring over 51% of the franchise initially. The sale, compliant with NBA private-equity rules, will be completed in two parts, allowing existing minority owners to retain their stakes until 2028 and sell at a potential 20% premium, bringing the final value to approximately $7.3 billion. The NBA’s board of governors is expected to vote on the deal in June.
