Wisden Critiques World Test Championship
Wisden’s latest edition, featuring tributes to Graham Thorpe, critiques the World Test Championship (WTC), describing it as a “shambles masquerading as a showpiece.” This annual publication highlights its new award winners while targeting the International Cricket Council (ICC) for its management of the WTC. The timing of the release coincides with recent discussions at ICC meetings in Zimbabwe regarding the WTC’s future, although the governing body has yet to provide clarity on the outcomes of those discussions.
