Hampshire’s Keith Barker revealed he “feared for the loss of my career” during a nine-month wait for the outcome of his failed drug test, which he attributed to a “genuine administrative error.” He tested positive for the banned substance indapamide, prescribed for high blood pressure, and was provisionally suspended for nearly 11 months following the out-of-competition test. Barker has now been cleared to return to professional cricket on 4 July, after learning his ban length last month.
