Geno Smith, a two-time Pro Bowl QB, is being traded from the Seahawks to the Raiders for a 2025 third-round pick in a reunion with Pete Carroll, with Smith expected to receive a new contract. Smith, who has one year remaining on his current deal worth $31 million, is seen as a bridge QB for the Raiders until they find a young QB in upcoming drafts. With Smith’s departure, the Seahawks are now in need of a starter and may look to free agent Sam Darnold, having already cut WR Tyler Lockett and possibly trading WR DK Metcalf.
