Ray Shero, a longtime NHL executive and Stanley Cup-winning general manager, passed away at the age of 62. Shero spent three decades working in NHL front offices, beginning as an assistant general manager with the Ottawa Senators and Nashville Predators before being hired as the Pittsburgh Penguins’ general manager in 2006. He won a Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 2009 but was later fired after the team struggled in the playoffs. Shero went on to work for the New Jersey Devils and later the Minnesota Wild before his passing.
