Jonas Johansson, a Swedish goalie, signed a two-year deal with the Lightning to serve as Andrei Vasilevskiy’s backup after a successful season in the AHL with Colorado. In previous seasons, Johansson has played for the Sabres’ AHL affiliate and is expected to be the No. 3 goalie behind Linus Ullmark and Carter Hutton. The 22-year-old will battle for playing time in the AHL with Scott Wedgewood and Adam Wilcox, aiming to gain more experience and potentially become an NHL starter in the future.
