Richard Whittam KC has been appointed as the chair of the new independent Cricket Discipline Panel (CDP), taking over from the Cricket Discipline Commission to handle regulatory breaches and sanctions in English professional cricket. Whittam, a specialist regulatory and criminal barrister with experience in sports law, was chosen by the ECB board for a four-year term after an open recruitment process. His role involves presiding over disciplinary cases, appointing panel members, and upholding various cricket regulations to ensure the integrity of the sport.
