Former Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer made his NFL preseason debut with the Detroit Lions in a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Following Teddy Bridgewater’s retirement, Altmyer seized the opportunity to play, completing 13 of 22 passes for 130 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and a fumble. Notably, he led a late-game drive, culminating in his first NFL touchdown pass to Tarik Black. The Lions will next face the Washington Commanders on August 22.
