Werder Bremen has officially announced the departure of Austrian international Romano Schmid, who has transferred to Serie A side Frosinone Calcio for a guaranteed €8.5m, potentially rising to €10.5m with bonuses. Schmid, who joined Bremen in 2019, made 192 appearances, contributing 18 goals and 35 assists, and was pivotal in their promotion back to the Bundesliga.
