The Miami Marlins are trading catcher Liam Hicks to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for three prospects, including infielder Brayden Taylor, infielder Adrian Santana, and right-hander Jacob Kisting. Hicks, who is having a breakout 2026 season with a .282 batting average and 14 homers, was overshadowed by top prospect Joe Mack in Miami. Taylor, Santana, and Kisting were all ranked among Tampa Bay’s top 30 prospects prior to the trade. Hicks is under team control through 2030 and is expected to take over the everyday catching role for the Rays.
