Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees has been named the 2024 American League Most Valuable Player by the Baseball Writers Association of America. This is his second MVP win, having previously won in 2022. Judge led the majors in multiple offensive categories, including home runs, RBI, and WAR. He also had a park-adjusted OPS that ranks as the sixth-highest in MLB’s integrated era. Bobby Witt Jr. of the Royals finished second in the voting, while Juan Soto, Judge’s teammate in 2024, finished third. In 2024, Aaron Judge led the Yankees to an AL-best 94 wins and the AL East title, earning himself the AL MVP award. Along with Juan Soto, Judge hit 99 home runs and received 262 walks. This marked the 22nd MVP award for the Yankees in franchise history. The voting results included 19 different players receiving votes, with Tigers reliever Tyler Holton also getting a vote.
