The San Diego Padres signed outfielder Dustin Harris to a minor league contract after he opted out of a previous deal with the White Sox. Harris debuted with Triple-A El Paso, following a strong season in Triple-A with a .306 batting average and six home runs. The Padres need outfield depth due to Ramón Laureano’s season-ending injury and Samad Taylor’s oblique strain, making Harris a valuable addition. He joins Nick Solak and Bryce Johnson as non-roster depth options for the team.
